Diff problems - urgent!!!!

Hi All
I noticed some fluid leaking out of the bottom of my beloved FTO
After taking it to mechanics, they have discovere a 3 cm split in the diff housing.
Can anyone help me
- what couldve caused the split
- should i replace the diff
- is there somewhere in melb that can fix this
- anything else

you have a 3cm split in your diff???? 3cm wide?

3cm long with a very visable crack
looks as though the damage was done from the inside

hmm ftos dont have a diff, I assume you mean the cv boot

no def not the cv
diff/tranmission housing
i am getting a second hand one for it anyway
