LIGHT UP KICK PLATES how are they wired up?

Post by BAMBAM »

I have just purchased an FTO and it is great. I only have one problem with it and it concerns the light up kick plates. I think these are an aftermarket addition to the car (i have seen them for sale on this website). Mine seem to have a mind of their own I think they are supposed to come on when the doors open but they work at random. I would like to know how they are wired up and what switches them on/off, and if anyone else has had the same problem. I am totally new to this but would like to learn about the car. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

They should be wired to the circuit which controls your interior lights, the ones that come on when you open the doors. The easiest way to get to this circuit is to the switches in the door frames which are released when you open the doors.

BAM,

I have a soft copy of the instructions on how to hook up the kick plates in the FTO.

Give me your email address and I can forward it on to you if you'd like.
From FTO to EVO......
