INVECS-II

Does anyone know if the INVECS-II tiptronic transmission in new Magnas/Veradas and old Magna Sports/VR-X models the same as the FTO's??? I heard that the newer models have the 5-speed version. If that's the case, wouldn't that be 100% compatible with the 97 FTO GPX tip transmission/gearbox?

i suspect they woul be the same gearbox... best thing to do is find out the model number of the Verada gearbox, and compare it with the model number of your gearbox. If they are the same, then they should fit like a glove...

however i also suspect that the first 2 ratio or final drive ratios may be slightly different because they are geared to suit the power characteristics of the engine that is fitted to it.

Thanx for the reply GPXXX, but the mechanic says they aren't compatible. Will check for sure though just in case he's BSing me.
