YES! i have used the search feature!
anyway,
Its gone, i need to get it out, i cant for the life of me work out how to get it out. plus the exhaust is in the way quite a substantial amount.
i need to get it out cause the guy who quoted me $146 for a replacement SM wants the part number to confirm that its the right part. Plus i cant get the new 1 in tilol i pull the old 1 out (obviously(but had to put it for kevs sake))
any help appreciated

there are a couple of different part numbers depending on your car... need your full chasis no to determine the right one
MD32057(upto 97)
MD34138 (97 onwards)
pm me your chassis number and i'll try to confirm in the next few days

Do you know what the difference is between the two starter motors and why they aren't compatible?

nup sorry... all i know is that the mitsu database has different part numbers for different years...
i'd say that they fixed a problem in the original one... but as i'm not an expert on starter motors i'm just guessing...
the engines are the same so it shouldn't mount differently ... best to go with the correct one just in case...
