would u be able to post some pics up too?
as when i look at the cig lighter
i see 3 cables attach to it
do i just pull really hard for it to come off
or is there a safety lock?

black one has a safety lock, you need to push in to get it out. White one is straight forward, just pull it out. You need to twist ans pull the little bulb off too.

Two are push-pull clips and the third is a twist -'n - pull that looks like a little blue LED.

They should all come off very easy!

anyone know where i can buy the leds for the aircon unit in australia?
i'm taking the console off to paint it so might as well replace the lights
and what do i ask for in the shop? thanks !

I can't believe no one's mentioned vinyl dye!! Give that a go! Quite possibly the simplest way to do stuff like this, hell works wonders on plastic pc parts :) You just gotta suit up when using it, some brands have labels warning of birth defects :S

Anyway, you can buy it from any car place, no priming required. It doesn't cover the plastic but rather softens it, then seeps into the open pores, then hardens back up so you retain the orginal texture (and any embossed, depressed text or symbols). Just spray on a couple of coats, leave to dry then whack it back in. Should work a treat!

.check the DIY tread for the led replacement, i have posted a few links for australian suppliers.
