I can't believe no one's mentioned vinyl dye!! Give that a go! Quite possibly the simplest way to do stuff like this, hell works wonders on plastic pc parts
You just gotta suit up when using it, some brands have labels warning of birth defects :S
Anyway, you can buy it from any car place, no priming required. It doesn't cover the plastic but rather softens it, then seeps into the open pores, then hardens back up so you retain the orginal texture (and any embossed, depressed text or symbols). Just spray on a couple of coats, leave to dry then whack it back in. Should work a treat!
