new grill - where to get one?

Post by Craigh »

Any ideas if there is anywhere locally (australia) to find a replacement front grill for a 95 GPX? I know of http://www.type-f.co.uk/products/grill.html but will any mesh of the appropriate 850x140mm size do? Anything to know before buying (anything special need to be done to it? etc).

Thanks
Craig

I'm making one up myself and was looking to see if anyone else was interested. Here's the posting:

Hey,

Try www.metalmesh.com.au

I did a bulk order for a few guys in Brisbane a while back using the measurements off the Type-F site as a guide, ended up being around $30 each for a top quality stainless steel mesh grill.

Make sure you get them to cut it on a 45deg angle for the nice diamond effect. :-)

Cheers

That's who I was looking to source the material off, I might have been a bit generous with the sizing but with the prices they quoted me, I wouldn't get it down to $30 :/

Craigh mate, you can get cheaper stuff from Supercheap Autobarn and the new Autobits store next to army disposals in Musgrave street that I saw the opther day I was in there but the results won't be anywhere as good looking in my opinion as metal bought and cut specifically from metalmesh or whatever, for that matter mate you could probably get the measurements from type-f then go and have a chat and a look at some of the stuff available locally cause they would be able to cut it for you. Try Ashton, or some of the other metal fabricators in the phone book.

I now have these available for much less than I originally thought I'd have to make them.
