tapping/ticking noise in my FTO GR 1995

Hi good folks of the FTO Australia Forum.

I've been having issues with my FTO where it makes a really loud tapping/clicking noise when its running. Usually fades away when running or is intermittent, noted it fades away with high revs as well. but on a cold start it's the worst. Someone recommended a thicker oil im currently using 10w-40

Above is combined with a hesitant engine under load, lost power, stalling upon cold start and engine hiccups which i suspect is the MAF sensor or the air filter. Putting in a new filter this arvo.

But any thoughts regarding any of the above two issues would be great!!

Ticking noise is probably tappets that require adjustment.
