1998 gpx from sydney

Hi all,

I purchased a 1998 FTO GPX recently from mezje on the forums here. I made a day out of it by flying to Melbourne and driving it back to Sydney. Car went well and was happy with its ride and performance, car was well taken care of and in good condition.

I have always wanted a clean FTO, ive owned mirages/lancers in the past that were modified but now id like to do the same to the FTO.

I went through the process of getting a blue slip, making it roadworthy with new tyres/ride height etc it was quite straight forward to get it done. Car came with some Advan wheels but preferred the OEM look so went through a bit of a mission to find a set of GPX wheels in sydney, got them repaired. Turned out alright but was costly lol.

Looking forward to updating the car on the forum. Intentions with the car are something along the lines of clubsprint time attack but this is a 2nd car that is not a daily so mods will come but only when funds allow.

Next step would be to go drag racing and set some benchmark times.

- Catback exhaust (i think is 2.5inch?)

Weight Reduction
- Air Con and Power Steering Delete (30 KG together)
- Lithium Battery (15kg
- Rear Wiper Removal (2kg)
- Audio Delete (10KG)
- Sound deadening from rear (3kg)

Overall so far - 60kg.

Suspension
DGR coilovers
205/50/16 RE003's all around.
