Water/Oil Temp Gauges, cooked sensors

Got some gauges for free and looking at installing them this weekend...

Both the oil and water temp sensors seem identical but I'm not going to reuse them as they are very dodge. The sensor sits in a metal housing, whole unit looks similar to pic below:



Issue is the actual sensor that sits in the metal can just be pulled out on BOTH, someone has shoved white sealant in there to stop this but both just pop out, no seal at all.

I am going to get new sensors but will they work with the gauges? I'm under the impression this is not possible with an oil pressure sender but for temp I can imagine it would be ok...

Same thing, needs to output the correct range.

Gauge is made to see a specific reading from sensor.

How much for water temp, oil and oil pressure?

So the sensor is just within a cap and makes no contact with the actual liquid?
Not sure why you need to change them.
Personally I'd get some conductive paste and put them back in there.
If/when they fail look at replacing them but it seems you are just complicating things for yourself currently

This is what they look like, gauge company seems to think they will be fine. Temperature sensors are pretty robust and oil pressure sender is new.
