I’ve been looking at planning a Bathurst weekend for quite some time now. But due to generally who I am as a person, I haven’t done anything about it.
Now I have.
I am proposing a Bathurst weekend. Saturday 13th May and Sunday 14th May
Here are the tentative plans;
I’d be guessing that people would be coming from all over Sydney, and Newcastle and maybe down south, so I propose a Meet point at 11am OUTSIDE THE NATIONAL MOTOR RACING MUSEUM on Saturday May 13. Google reckons it will take 4 hours from Newcastle, just under 3 from Sydney.
Have a few laps of the track strictly abiding the road rules, take some photos, maybe a track walk if we are so inclined to. Google maps reckon it is an hour walk. There is also the National Motor Racing Museum, The Bathurst Visitor Information Centre.

After that, and after doing my research a few other points of interest came up. The Stone Pine Distillery and Cellar Door, Chifley Dam is apparently a touristy thing to do, the Bathurst Harness Club (Go place your money on the trots) and Panoramic Airways Scenic flight of Bathurst which needs to be pre booked, but that is something I’d be quite interested in. A 25 minute flight over Bathurst, the track and a few other things I forget because it isn’t car related. Not sure of associated costs, they were not listed on their website. I'll make inquiries over the next few days

As for accommodation;
There is the Panorama Bathurst http://panoramabathurst.com.au at $110 a night (1 double, 1 single)
The Knickerbocker Hotel https://apac.littlehotelier.com/propert ... 2017-05-13 at $115 a night (1 Queen, 2 single)
The Bathurst Country Lodge http://www.bathurstcountrylodge.com.au/ at $180 a night (1 double, 4 single)
All have free parking. Would have to confirm extra parking charges if any for additional cars per room.

Nightlife, there are a few pubs with live music open until 1am.
There is the Elephant and Castle
The Family Hotel
The Oxford Hotel
The Bathurst RSL (lol)
and if we really want to, Rafters Bar @ Charles Sturt University
As I neared the end of my research, I realise that Sunday the 14th of May is mothers’ day. So just book dinner with your mum, bring her back a souvenir from Bathurst, and all will be okay, i promise
Names beside numbers, I'm keen
