GP Version R Kit - Who sells them?

Post by sunraider »

I need to get my front bar changed due to an accident so i am looking for some place that sells the Version R front bar. Does anyone know of anywhere that I can get a replica (or the real thing).

Im also considering the vR spoiler but I would rather the "veilside/evo hybrid" type of one that D-TRAIN used in the thread "what spoiler would you like on your FTO?" (Aug 31). If anyone knows where I can get a hold of that, it would be good also.

I think I mentioned it in one of the other threads, but the Version R does not have a specific front bumper bar. It has the same one as any other model of FTO. The only different thing that the GPvR has over the GPX is the larger rear wing.

You're probably thinking of the facelift FTO bumper (1997+) with the round fog/indicator lights - this was available on several different models of FTO.

As also mentioned in the other thread, if your FTO is a pre-facelift model and you fit a facelift bumper, you will have problems with park lights - ie you won't have any.

UAS sells a copy of the facelift kit (among others). Check out this link:

But like I said in the other thread, you should strongly consider getting it from Mitsubishi (i.e. Northshore Mitsubishi) especially if you are covered by insurance.

Aren't there parking lights in a non-facelift headlight unit?
From FTO to EVO......

you can get parking lights. they are just very expensive if you want the originals... I think justjap sells them.

other members here have used lights of VW's etc as well, or trailer lights.

Nope - they're in the indicator/foglight assembly instead. My car actually has both, since it has the facelift headlights and a VS bumper with the non-facelift indicator assembly.

 Don't ask - I went past the panelbeaters yesterday and saw my car, still looks a long way off as it had no bumper, headlights, bonnet or guards. I'm going back today to talk to them about how much longer it's going to be. It's been nearly a month and a half...

Usually spare parts are plentiful over here because of how many imports we have, but apparently not for a facelift FTO!

This reminds me a conversion i had when i first got my FTO.

"Hey Kev, isn't that your FTO at the back of the shop?"

"Yep sure is"

"How long your car been sitting there for now?"

"1yr, 6mths, & 1wk mate"

"WTF its been here for 1 1/2 yr & a wk??"

"No mate, you see those three cars at the back, they all mine, & one been here for a year, one for 6mths, & the FTO is the latest, its only a wk, so its doing well" :?
