Im interested in getting my front drivers seat re-uphoulstered too. Does anyone know how hard it is to take off the seat covers?

My drivers side seat cover has worn through on the bottom right hand side.

Ive gone through a few fto forums... It seems pretty easy to take of the covers...

Im going to see if I can find some similar material then im going to take it off and get my gf's mum to sew in a new section where teh worn out section is.

Its just a matter of finding the material now! I might go see a car upholsterer to see if they will sell me any, anyone else have any ideas as to where you can get auto trim?

seat covers just zip off from the back... i found a packet of lube and a japanese cellphone manual in mine when i unzipped it....

and its common for the right side of the drivers seat to wear through it seems... most ive seen have had some sort of wear... i gather its due to sliding in and out of the seat... plus theres a metal bit underneath it rubs on...

Looking through the technical manual for the fto I noticed a section about the seats ( Section 6-4).

Our seats are made up of Urethane pads with differing hardnesses, the sides are much harder urethane then the actual middle.

I have no idea what kinda places would do this apart from car apholstery places... though i might post the material that our seats are made from..

Download this file, which should give you some idea:

 http://www.boryadesign.net/fto/my/seats/frontseats.zip (~5mb)

This is from the group buy, thread that i uploaded.

Um the bottom of the seats should be pretty easy, it's just easier if you remove the whole seat from your car (4 bolts), and then remove the bottom of the seat from the actual seat (another 4 bolts)!
