6a13tt gearbox
Will the awd gearbox for the 6a13tt fit in an fto? Or is it smarter to swap it for the 6a12 gearbox?

Re: 6a13tt gearbox
Well, are you making it AWD?
The beauty of the 6A12 box is that it bolts up (there's something about the clutch, check Bennoz thread). No point FWD locking the 6A13 box (if that's possible), if you can just use the FTO one.

Well i have both as an option, my 6a12 gearbox needs a rebuild though, what about gear ratios? Are they similar?

Re: 6a13tt gearbox
Pretty sure a rebuild is still going to be cheaper than making the 6A13 box fit, and I believe I remember someone saying it's too big to fit, but I think that was a while ago. Feel free to be the guinea pig lol

Re: 6a13tt gearbox
Won't easily fit. Easier to just rebuild the 6a12 box.

Re: 6a13tt gearbox
I would also use a 6A12 transmission.
If you do rebuild it consider changing the final drive to something lower (perhaps the 6A13TT one fits?)

Don't think the 6a13 one fits. 6a13 box is pretty much an evo box with a different bellhousing

Re: 6a13tt gearbox
The ones from the Lancer or Mirage transmission should fit which should be easily accessible too

Re: 6a13tt gearbox
The final drive gear is what bothers me the most, driving on the freeway at 3k rpm is annoying
where can i get a final drive gear to lower that? What will fit?

Download this:
http://www.mivec.co.nz/tech/F5M42_Gearbox_Manual.pdf
And have a look at the transmissions available.
From a quick search there the 1.5 Lancer/Mirage range received a 3.714 FD (the FTO is 4.312 from memory) so you can put that into rpm/speed calculators and see what rpm you'll be at.
Additionally you can see that there are a few different 5th gear options to which I believe you can mix and match to get a longer 5th.
The FTO transmission has 0.820 5th which is the shortest 5th there is (ie revs the most).
I have the 0.767 and would be willing to swap but have no intention (or desire) to remove the transmission
With a different 5th and FD your 5th gear revs would be quite low relatively speaking
