Halech plug and play kits now fully compatible
For those interested we have worked with Haltech and now have a fully 100% compatible plug and play kit for all Mitsubishi FTO Manual / Auto model vehicles.
Utilising the Haltech Elite 2500 ECU, we can now control the mivec but most importantly, we can now fully control the variable intake manifold runners.

I have uploaded a video of ti to our facebook page showing the butterflies switching at 3000 rpm (For test purposes).
Big thanks to Haltech for providing the Elite ECU system that can control this. We can now actually control these style of manifolds on the pajero's, early magnas, galants etc so it really expands our tuning options for customers.
PLug and play kits will now be available with this set-up as of today.
Average price for an Elite 2500 Plug and play kit (For manual models) is $2800.00.
Note we may be able to use an Elite 1500 for those wanting to reduce costs but I need to check whether we have enough inputs / outputs to run everything fully.
Feel free to ask any questions regarding this.

It's cool and all, but yeah, not imagining there'll be too many takers when the price is what some of them have paid for their whole cars.

Thats true but at least its an option now that did not exist before or customers had to lose the option of having the manifold system working.

When you say it's a plug and play kit, is that plug and play for the loom connector as well?

Pardon my ignorance, as my rpms rarely go over 4k, does having MIVEC active equates to a higher fuel consumption versus normal operation at 4k rpm?

yes comes with adapter harness included which bolts straight up the factory ECU Harness.
Yes when you switch across to the mivec it does activate a higher lift / duration profile and has higher fuel usage.

Nothing much..... just want my car to last.
Since owning it 6++ years ago, only had a set of tyres change after the 5th year mark.

Depends what you want to do with the car. I'll be getting this done by Dave soon. Choosing the Haltech Elite 2500 because I want as much as possible to be adjustable; especially if you want to add extra mods to the car and upgrade different systems that can't be done with the stock ECU. For example, Wideband O2 sensors, Flex fuel etc. Main reason though is because I plan to swap the 6a13tt into the FTO too, and the haltech will make everything much easier and customisable.bjk wrote:It's cool and all, but yeah, not imagining there'll be too many takers when the price is what some of them have paid for their whole cars.

The PS1000 accommodates both Wideband O2 and flex fuel and will cost like $1k less though. But I suppose if you really want the extra bells and whistles then sure

Exactly - we do the parallel ECU installation harnesses which use the PS1000, PS2000 and the Elite 750 ECU options .
The elite 750 is our recommended set-up now because it allows sequential injection, long term self learning fuel, ignition and knock. The only thing it doesn't do is the variable manifold runners.

I reckon I could mock something up to control variable intake runners with any ECU as long as you've got a free output.

Not normally because the motor control is a DC motor, we can only use the haltech as they are adaptable enough to use the drive by wire outputs as a programmable output.Vectose wrote:I reckon I could mock something up to control variable intake runners with any ECU as long as you've got a free output.
You could make up a separate circuit board which would then read off the two sensors etc which is something I did years ago to use with the Haltech E8/11 series but it was a pain in the butt.

Yeah, was talking about separate circuit board route. Have done similar things in the past. Wouldn't be that much of a pain.
