Wakefield Price Hike
So, the new management have decided to try & bamboozle the enthusiasts by 'changing' the pricing structure to suit the guy that 'pre-books' their speed of the streets day.
In summary, it used to be:
Rock up on the day - pay $50 for the licence if you don't have one (valid for a f**king year!) then pay $110 for the day - max total $160
The new structure is (weekday only!):
If you 'pre-book' - pay $25 for the licence if you don't have one (valid for 1 day only!) then pay $145 for the day - max total $170 - only if you pre-book!
Rock up on the day - pay $25 for the licence if you don't have one (valid for 1 day only!) then pay $175 for the day - max total $200
Weekend pricing is even dearer:
If you 'pre-book' - pay $25 for the licence if you don't have one (valid for 1 day only!) then pay $175 for the day - max total $200 - only if you pre-book!
Rock up on the day - pay $25 for the licence if you don't have one (valid for 1 day only!) then pay $205 for the day - max total $230
Getting up there with Eastern Creek... the c**ts...

Re: Wakefield Price Hike
Are there any improvements to the track or the way things are managed to warrant this price hike?
It seems more or less ok though still. Winton I believe is $150 (+ $50 for a 1 year license) though it may be a better track than Wakefield considering it gets resurfaced frequently

Re: Wakefield Price Hike
Yeah saw that today also. Note the WP licence was always for 1 year, not 1 day. I assume this is a typo Benno
But yeah sadly sh*t goes up

Yep, sorry typo.
Wakfield got resurfaced recently too with the new management, not hearing any positive comments about that either. You been on it lately Shane?

Luddenham should be open soon. Go kart track has been functional for a while there now.
Some good cheap motoring is hillclimbs and supersprints if anyone is keen.
Shane have you ever looked into some hillclimbs? We had one a few weekends ago up at Raymond Terrace and now I am hooked...

Semi related, how big of a difference did you notice with your shorter ratio gearbox in your FTO racecar?

Re: Wakefield Price Hike
I pressed them on pricing. Seems you can still get an annual license through AASA..
Me: Curious, got your new pricing structure email. How does a $50 annual licence become a $25 per day licence? Or should I contact AASA?
WP: Hi Ben, the annual lic became $75 at the start of this year, yes you can get one directly from Aasa or the circuit can issue you a day lic

Re: Wakefield Price Hike
Luddenham is unfortunately going to be a small track, I've seen the layout. It's like Marulan.
No good for a bloke looking to stretch the legs of a blown 6.2L V8!

Re: Wakefield Price Hike
Daniel I have a Cyborg transmission in my car, also running 205/50/15 tyres (in a Lancer).
The ratios are a night and day difference. I cannot imagine why Mitsubishi went for the ridiculous ratios of the FTO.
At the very least they should've offered the Version R with those ratios to boost its performance, and should've added little things like maybe 5mm oversize TB (that they also have in their parts bin), extractors, exhaust, different tune and ideally a mild head P&P.
This would've been a fantastic factory car.
