Re: Hammond Review
I always thought his opinion of the interior was a bit harsh, but I suppose he's would have been in some pretty upmarket ones even by then.

Re: Hammond Review
Yeah, the interior was still reasonable for the FTO... I mean look at the NSX interior from the 90's and that was the poor man's Ferrari

The only place you're getting an amazing interior in the 90's would be from a luxury car company.
BMW M3

Lamborghini Diablo

Re: Hammond Review
Not sure if that NSX is stock... pretty sure steering wheel, dials, and shifter are aftermarket...? Do you know what year model the NSX is?
This Rx7 is 1993 - 2002 (3rd Gen) Since the FTO was 1994-2000, I think that's a better comparison. Spirit R was released closer to 2000-2002 belonging to the final series makes it the newest model and the highest model for the brand. Granted the FTO interior never really improved as the years went by with their facelifted model.

I'll let you have the Supra, great interior for its time, still very flashy. That's why it's still fairly expensive for a decent one

How did the FTO interior change with the facelift?
The NSX interior pictured there is from the NSX-R, which was released in 2002 so might not be a fair comparison either.

Re: Hammond Review
I don't believe the FTO interior changed with the facelift, if it did it wasn't by much. However, a lot of cars that brought out their newer models in the same generation from different companies like Mazda, Honda etc did end upgrading their interiors as we rolled into the 21st century. Regardless, I still stand by the fact that it would be really rare to have an excellent interior from an affordable sports car in the mid to late 90s. The Supra being an exception of course. Anyways, compared to a lot of interiors from the 90s though, I wouldn't say the FTO's was terrible, most had a plastic-y feeling interior then, and even now (granted we have improved most of them).
