Ummmmm little Help Please
Hi everyone, i have a FTO gpx and recently discovered after changing a parker globe that my fto has driving/fog lights, so read the manual found the switch and naturally pushed it and tried different combos to see if the lights come on. the driving/fog lights globes never came on only the front parkers, rear night lights and dash lights. Is this Normal for when pushing the button? also i don't see the globe to say the driving lights are on come up on my instrument cluster. so if anyone can help me out thats great im not that good with electrics but have no issues rebuilding a motor

Re: Ummmmm little Help Please
In most FTO's the fog light switch has burnt out.
Mitsubishi has it wired so the load of the lights go directly through the switch which isn't rated high enough.
Most of us need to replace the switch and wire a relay into the circuit so the current draw of the lights go through the relay rather than the switch.
There is info on the forum somewhere.

Okies ill have a look at the switch tomorrow I'm guessing it would show some sign of burn out if it has. so Im guessing then that when i push it and only the parkers and what not coming on is atleast a good sign?

Welcome to the club! this is really random but when I bought my gpx the fog lights didn't work as well and I just kept pressing the button on and off really fast and then one day they decided to work haha! give it a shot!

Unless you install a relay, the switch will eventually burn up again.Mitsi_Girl_Amy wrote:lol i got mine working again i pulled the switch out and it was in good condition just had some carbon scoring on the contact plate so i cleaned it all up and now they work beautifully so thanx for the help boys would never have checked the switch unless i was told too lol

Re: Ummmmm little Help Please
I'm not worried about it doing it again, i don't use those driving lights. My normal H.I.D main head lights are more than enough for my CDB driving and for when i go country or in fog i installed the after market spot lights with changing lenses for fog and highways which are a lot more powerful. i just like the piece of mind that if a cop ever wants to be an pain to me and that my boobs didnt distract them and had to goto regency park for a vehicle inspection that i know everything works and have one less thing to pick on me for
