hey guys, i just came back from my autoelectrician after fixing the alternator, and an idling problem and i found that my mivec is not kicking in! i checked the plugs and they are secure... does anyone have any idea what else it could be ...
i brought it back to autoelectrician and he's not claiming responsibility(like they ever do) and told me to bring it back on wednesday. ... just curious what the problem could be ..... and how severe it is ....

Yep, it's almost certainly the alternator... or the link from the alternator to the Engine ECU.
The GPX has a special (4-wire?) connection that allows some chit-chat between the alt and the ECU.
If you do the error code test (see article in www.ftowa.com Workshop section) it will very likely tell you 'Alt-FR' error.
You can show that error code to the shop...
