Well, I finaly installed my snorkel... only cos I temporarly gave up on trying to put a sensor through the firewall... :?

So, it took me like 3 hours, of mucking around, because I had to take the stupid front bumper off... and the dude that owned my car before me, f**king screwed the front bumper straigh into the quarter panel with screws in some bits, so I had to hack saw some of them off...

First impressions are good, without a ECU reset, and 95RON fuel, I got within .08 seconds of my record for 0 - 100... On my 1st try...

In the future, I'm going to make a better snorkel ending, but first I have to find like a heat gun, so I can bend plastic...

Ok, for anyone that will be undertaking this job, don't cut the snorkel pipe too short...

So, in summary, it's pretty worth it...

OK, I got mine, a few weeks ago, and installed it, just the other day..

My biggest problems were:

Like Johno Intake pipe does not fit "Snug" around the throttle body, it seems too big for the throttle body, but it does fit once the clamps are on.

And when I was trying to sit the filter up with those metal thing, I could only bolt one on properly..

Still, I did want to say, that man, does my car make one of the sweetest sounds ever now... upto about 4k, it's pretty normal, but 4k onwards, DOES SHE SCREAM!!!

As soon as we put the filter on and took her for a "sprinted run" me and my friend, just started larfing at the note, that came out of my baby... It was just too sweet.

I do have two questions though...where abouts did you guys put the snorkle? because I looked, but couldn't think, of where and how to put it, any pictures would be great, and, is there anyway to check if the ECU was reset? All I did was leave the negative terminal disconcted for a bit, and when I turned her on, my trip meter had been reset. So I think I reset it, but is there any other way to double check?

hey guys,

just warning you should have a airfilter bracket, as mine last week has broken the cover of the Air box by snapping off the plastic that fastens to the headlight... and also unfastening two of the bolts...possible dangerous

8O

I will creating the same airbox but in a metal version.. in a month or so, i wasnt very happy with the construction of the UAS airbox in the first place, but you cant get much for $200 dollars....

I just got my uas cai kit, haven’t installed it yet. Had I’d known that some ppl have had problems with bits breaking off and stuff, then I’d most likely not have bought it. Anyway, can you please describe the problem abit more, and if possible, any pointers on avoiding this filter snapping off problem when installing it? thanks!

umm if that snapped off either you tightend it too tight (Which will actually break your headlight)... or it was mistreated... i've fitted several of these and never had this problem... mine also gets pulled apart on a regular basis and is treated pretty rough and this hasn't happened...

Hi Guys,

Can someone clarify?

Which part of the intake kit is the part under question?

I already have an Apexi kit and just bought the air box and intake tube, nothing bolts onto the headlight??? is this the bracket for the unifilter pod??

Have not had any real problems personally what so ever, battery clamp adjustment (may even splash out for a new "rice" alloy one), larger clamp needed for the throttle body ($3 from Repco) and a couple of well place bends in my Apexi mounting bracket.

Still looking for a decent intake sccop for my intake snorkel so haven't fitted that yet...........(I'm working on something a bit different)

Cheers

that's really strange i haven't seen that yet but i guess there's a first for everything....

did you fit it under the headlight mount (between the metal and plastic) or over the top???? its supposed to go between the headlight mount and the car body...
