Got a call back from Nas up at Thornleigh..

Turns out to be around $5500 in total as a worst case scenario cost. That is for complete strip and reco of engine with a mild port on the heads.

Was 1200 for the porting, 600 for the service on the heads, from memory around 2200 for labour of dismantling and assembly of engine and a couple of sets of $300 for other various stuff.

Was hoping to get away with it for under 5 grand but as long as the work is done well then can't complain.

Nek minnut. $10K.

Lot of labour there, but I guess it's a fairly labour intensive job.

Meh, have heard good things about Nas from the fellas up at Suzitech and also Bennoz. He explained everything in detail. He only gave a ballpark figure while talking through it all with me, asked me exactly what I wanted from it, intended use. He only gave me a quote as a ballpark figure when I asked him, had previously said needs to be dismantled and stuff to see what exactly needs doing. Also asked me if I had any preferences for parts sources. Just good vibes coming from their whole shop in general to be honest. Seem like friendly folk. Bogan, but friendly

But yeah, as you said.. nek minnut.. taking out a mortgage to buy a house so I can take out a second mortgage for my engine

Wouldn't mind seeing a detailed invoice once it is done to see how much they charge for individual things.

Im dropping my parts bitch engine up to them, probably on Friday, so I may get more info then. Apparently it will save a bit of money somehow. That's what he told me anyway.

But yeah, happy to pass on individual costs and breakdowns when I get them. Thats the point of this thread

Depends how long they take with it really. Once I get it back I plan to have the engine in the car that weekend. Also waiting to hear moar informations on the NSW gearbox day..

I'm hoping to have it done by the end of July, if nothing goes wrong (which it will, though )

Depends where they order the parts and stuff from as well... As I said, aiming for the end of July but realistically will be probably 6-8 weeks.
