Steering rack boots - Generic - Supercheap/AutoOne/Repco etc
http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online ... 3002#Cross
CV boot - dont be a tight arse, spend the $39 on eBay, replace the whole joint. Kit comes with boot, grease straps, everything.
If the boot is that old that it's worn itself a hole, chances are the joint is worn as well.

Oh & btw, if you do want to tight arse it, the boot on its own (still comes as a kit with grease & straps) is $28 bucks from Repco - to suit HJ Galant

Re: Driveshaft/steering rack boots
How would someone fit that CV joint?
And would it effectively be a recondition driveshaft, or would you need to get a new joint for the gearbox side too?

I usally get my driveshaft guy to do the inners. Traditionally, they don't wear as quickly as CVs as they're not subject to the same stresses as the CV.spetz wrote:And would it effectively be a recondition driveshaft, or would you need to get a new joint for the gearbox side too?
He charges $90 per shaft to the lot (both CV & inner)

Just a quick comment on this. If you have ABS, the ebay joint wont work for you. Youll need one with the cogs instead.Bennoz wrote:Why do I feel like I answer this question on a daily basis...Daniel2019 wrote:Anyone got new ones lying around/cheap source? Why fart arse around with doing a DIY?
When you can go to GODBENNOZ, remove your shafts, take them down the road (free trip in Red Rocket), go back to GODBENNOZ sanctuary, drink beer/eat lunch, go back to pick up you shafts (Red Rocket), back to the sanctuary for reinstalation, wave bye and piss off.
