So you removed your grass to place down newspaper and mulch that barely covers said newspaper?
The benefit of doing this is?

the newspaper will prevent any seeds from sprouting and killing any grass beneath' (that's what internet told me though.. not sure how true it is.. lolx)
put 4 bags of 70litres bark mulch... and still not enough to cover everything

bunnings was closed yesterday, so just gonna leave it like this...

Ah so just changing from grass to mulch?
Honestly, dont think the newspaper will do sh*t, next time it rains it will get wet and start degrading or be so weak seeds will just sprout through anyway.
Best bet is while you havent covered every inch is to lay down some weet mat. Not expensive and is generally a black thin type material. Will look better and do the job indefinitely.
