WTB Suspension Towers

Post by Peache »

Hey guys,

I took my FTO to the mechanic last week and I need new suspension towers. A mate suggested I find them myself and just pay to get them installed. Anyone know where I can locate some? First time trying to find parts for my car 8O

I would suggest just getting some KYB gas struts (im assuming your springs are fine? and just your struts are leaking?), as they are fairly cheap (pending where you source them) and can be installed yourself if you're keen or a number of members can do it for you. A mechanic would charge you a bit as they have to use a spring compressor etc.

KYB make them, same as a Volvo S40.

334391 - Left side
334390 - Right side.

EDIT: Here in Melbourne Bursons have them in stock usually. Not sure if you New South Waleians have Bursons though

I searched their website but nothing came up under those numbers. Following their part finder it says i need "Excel-G Twin Tube Gas Shock". I also couldnt find what exactly that was within their own website -_-

FTO's weren't dealer distributed here in Australia, so they are all imports. That's probably why the parts aren't listed on the website.

Camskill is a UK company that have a very good list of parts for the FTO. Use it as a reference for part numbers etc.

Some options, but can more than likely get it cheaper locally. Keep us posted on what you find, please.
