i noticed 2 boxs behind the driver rear trim im pretty sure one box is for the rear demister the other box looks to have a Ariel on it and not sure what it is for central locking?

    Its the factory Keyless Entry Module thats why it has an ariel, to pick up the signal from a factory remote.

    That was a cause of a major rattle in my FTO. I took it off, put masking tape on the back of the mounting plates and reattached it with small bolts and nyloc nuts.

    can we just unplug and remove this? (weight saving... and more importantly, one less thing to rattle)

    Unplug it and test if you still have central locking and the car still starts.

    I left mine in just for the hell of it. :lol:
