is it my clutch?

Post by adzski »

went for a drive before and just as i was about 10 minutes from home, i noticed when i put my foot down abit there were high rpms but not really that much power.
do you reckon i have worn my clutch? i popped the hood and there was a bit of a burning smell.
i think one of my radiator hoses is leaking when i popped the hood theres was green fluid on the gear box, though i thought that might explain the smell.
or would it be a fuel filter?

I cannot tell you a place in Melbourne, but I can highly recommend the Exedy clutches (specifically the HD)

Green fluid on the gearbox would be coolant I'd say mate. The hoses sit right above your gearbox. Check for leaks/burst pipes etc.
I fix cars.

What do you mean by a tune? I've had an FTO for 10 years now and I am very familiar with them.

Doesn't take 7 hours to do a clutch on a FWD. I never recall ever taking more than half a day to do a clutch.

The total cost was more than that, more like 550 with flywheel machined.

(Clutch, Flywheel machined, gearbox oil, clutch fluid, grease)
