There has been a number of times where I have been past that speed, as mine is delimited, I must say, the fto is a pretty stable car at that speed. :oops:

I think I must agree that it's something that is pretty silly, because the risk factor is like a squaring function. Like, okay, what are the chances that a roo might jump in front of you?

So, to conclude, I dout that I would be reaching 180 any time soon, and I think I will only do it, if i'm in the desert on the way to Alice Springs... or in a safe enviroment such as a race track.

SPEED

Post by GWIDO »

Well maybe it was a dream, but i saw the needle on my speedo move past 180 to about where 190 is, before i felt like i had hit a brick wall and my speed fell to 160...
Thats about 5500 rpm in fifth i think (I might go back to the playstation and check)
As for private roads, I reckon you could do it in 1000m plus a bit to stop...

Remember, controlled conditions, private property, good tyres, good brakes and good roads are all essential if you are gonna do this, and trust me its worth it, what a rush...

What a dream...

Just out of curiosity what is the max legal speed in Aus.in the U.K.its 70mph (112kph)But on the motorway most people cruise at about 90mph(145kph) But if you exceed 160kph you get a 6 month ban...
Not long ago a guy got done for doing 300kph on his Fireblade

The freeway speed limit is 110 km/h...most do round 120, on roads it varies from 20 to 80 depending on the road and its surroundings, eg schools, hospitals. etc

O.K. Then
1st = 55 kph
2nd = 105
3rd = 145
4th = 180
5th = 227
These are for a MIVEC Manual
I think i've converted them from MPH o.k.

Thanx for that I was mostly interested in what it can do in 4th and 5th. I have only been about 165km/h in an FTO and it was in third at 7000rpm. 2nd gear was around 115km/h. Oh it was on a race track too.
