Planning another run on Monday 27th August at Wakefield Park, anyone interested in coming out for the day.
you normally get about 7-8 runs of at least 8 laps each run.

Re: Wakefield Park
I take it these are practice laps and not an actual event.
Hows the car holding up BTW. Last time I talked to you you were pretty happy with how it was performing.

very happy with it, it is currently at Capital steering as I am having some adjustments done (notes from last track day) back to our workshop Tues as I need tow hooks (hopefully never have to use them) then a service at the end of the week ready for the track Monday.

Be interesting to see how you go against the skylines. Make sure you update us. I suspect the handling of the FTO will stand you in good stead.

Have fun
Do you have a lap timer yet? Get yourself a GPS laptimer and a decent in car camera. Best way to improve your laptimes.
I'll be heading down again in Sept, hoping they'll release some more dates though, was hoping to go down for 2 days in a row.

Re: Wakefield Park
Yeah the FTO is a pita for mounting tow hooks. We ended up making up custom ones and welding them on. The front one sits neatly beneath the front bar but the rear one needed to have a slot cut in the bar and passed through. The end result looks neat and very strong.

Re: Wakefield Park
great day on the track, they placed me with the race cars, there were some fast cars on the track a nice B M W M3 and a targa car - S k y l i n e from ACT, also Graeme had his S K y l i n e DR30 on the track, these cars were doing 108-109 sec on the track which was pretty quick, I sat on 1.18 - 1.19 sec in the FTO and Graeme did a 1.14.93 which was the best he could get from it. the street cars were sitting around 125 - 127 sec which makes the FTO look pretty good.
Drew a crowd around the FTO especially when they saw a girl driving and it wasn't a turbo pulling better times then they were.
the car looked great on the track, needs another set of brakes though, I had put racing red stuff brakes but after two race meets the front right was down to metal,
Its currently at Dynamic Tuning Service (DTS) in ACT for new brackets, service and dyna tune, ready for 9th Sept another race meet at Wakefield, I have put up a link of photos from Monday

Re: Wakefield Park
Thanks Jacqueline, but I'm not really interested in sprints.
I need to do some more testing / setup and then hopefully have the car sorted for the last CAMS State Championship round at EC in Oct.
I'm hoping more days will come online for Sept, otherwise I'll be trying to make it down on the 20th.

Re: Wakefield Park
Yeah unfortunately I'm going to be flat out with work for the next 2 weeks and my CAMS licence is due to expire in a couple of days and I was slow getting my renewal in, so I probably won't have my licence back until mid Sept, and I haven't even looked at the car since my last track day, so sadly best case scenario for me will be late Sept

Re: Wakefield Park
Great pics, engine bay looks almost new!
Quick observation though, your race harness, where the shoulder straps are mounted to the floor, that is very very bad. If you have an accident you're risking a compressed spine = very bad. You need to install some kind of bar or some other method of mounting your harnesses as close to horizontal to the height of your shoulders as you can.

Re: Wakefield Park
yes Shane, you are correct, I talked to some CAMS officials today and they said while having a harness is much better then a normal seatbelt, he said they have to be at a minimium 40deg angle, I am having them fixed this week before my next race meet this Sunday. Im placing them horizontal to my shoulders
thanks for pointing that out, it would be a waste to spend all this money on safety and have it fitted incorrectly.
am up against S k y l i n e R31 - R35 this weekend lets see how the FTO performs

Re: Wakefield Park
No worries, remember ideal angle is slightly below horizontal.
Good luck for the weekend. Do you have an incar camera yet?
