GPvR over GPX?
If there's two FTOs of comparable specs (1997, around 110,000 - 120,000 kms, auto) one is a GPvR for $7500, and the other is a GPX for $6000, how much is the GPvR-ness worth? The LSD etc?
Also, is part of the rear light missing?

Re: GPvR over GPX?
Version R is less common, has LSD, vR Seats, wing and no electronic climate control, weighs a little less, has a stock MOMO steering wheel (unless the GPX is facelift I think?) as opposed to regular Mitsi one. As long as you have the money, and the vR is mechanically good, personally I'd take the version R. I may have missed a few things.
And yes it's missing part of the light

You forgot the strut braces and uprated suspension (probably stuffed or replaced by now anyway)Daniel2019 wrote:Version R is less common, has LSD, vR Seats, wing and no electronic climate control, weighs a little less, has a stock MOMO steering wheel (unless the GPX is facelift I think?) as opposed to regular Mitsi one.

That GPvR has been on carsales for a very long time.

Having owned both, id go the version R every time. The GPX will have climate control (which you probably wont touch anyway) and fold in mirrors (which dont have any practical use). Of course, this is assuming that both FTO's are in similar condition. Make sure you look for roof rust in both. You should be able to replace the taillight for around $75.

But yeah, version R seems the go in comparison to the GPX if you got the coin...All the previous comments show why!

Re: GPvR over GPX?
Thanks everyone. Only thing is that the GPX is in Victoria or something, and I'm in SA. The comparison of the both was more to determine if I could bargain the GPvR down based on the price of the GPX. To note, the GPX has 6 months of rego, which is about $400 from what I've calculated before for SA. So if I took the rego off the price of the GPvR, and say it was $7000, is that extra thousand dollars worth the things the GPvR includes?
Better rear shot of the bumper, do people still think it looks bent in? From the other angle I can sort of see it, but it doesn't seem very noticeable (or I'm more mechanically noobed than I thought).
Yeah, it has for quite a while, makes me wonder if anything in particular is wrong with it, because by appearances it looks fine.Vectose wrote:You forgot the strut braces and uprated suspension (probably stuffed or replaced by now anyway)Daniel2019 wrote:Version R is less common, has LSD, vR Seats, wing and no electronic climate control, weighs a little less, has a stock MOMO steering wheel (unless the GPX is facelift I think?) as opposed to regular Mitsi one.

Re: GPvR over GPX?
I'd have a good look up underneath to make sure nothing looks bent.
If it's been for sale for a while that's reason enough for the seller to be willing to bargain.
Optionally pay for a mechanical review/condition report from your state motoring body, ie NRMA in Syd. Then you'll know exactly what needs attention on it and what major problems it may or may not have.

Re: GPvR over GPX?
I'm just making preliminary checks before I fork out over $200 is all. (although the $200 check is certainly worth being aware of any possible faults). Also have to organise with work to see whether I can get enough hours.Shane001 wrote:I'd have a good look up underneath to make sure nothing looks bent.

the Airbag Momo wheel was optional, my 96 GPX has it.Daniel2019 wrote:Version R is less common, has LSD, vR Seats, wing and no electronic climate control, weighs a little less, has a stock MOMO steering wheel (unless the GPX is facelift I think?) as opposed to regular Mitsi one. Re: GPvR over GPX?
Hopefully that wouldn't be too much to fix. I mean, there's no obvious dents or anything.
