What do the engineers deem as a "20% increase in braking capacity"? Does it have to be an increase in rotor/caliper sizes front and rear? or just in the actual braking performance of the car? Surely braided brake lines, good slotted rotors and pads all round should give you a 20% increase in performance?
Also, would it be worth looking into the brakes off a 380? I'm not sure if it was the triton or magna crowd, but I remember someone looking into adapting the 380's calipers and rotors to suit their cars.

Guys I know this may well turn out to be something completely custom, I'm a qualified mechanical engineer remember.
And the next person who says to me "A good set of slotted rotors & pads should be all you need" is going to get slapped. Because it's clearly fking not the case! I've worn out a 330mm big brake kit rotor & have been on the phone to a dozen smug brake 'experts' who have all been telling me "A good set of slotted rotors & pads should be all you need"
I have asked the RTA engineer to specify exactly what the 20% increase relates too. He's 'faxing' me (yeah I know... faxing) some documentation tomorrow. It's to do with surface area, but there is also a fluid volumes requirement on top of that from what he was saying.
Just to refresh memories, this is what I've been using (and have now worn out.) Gotta remember & I'm carrying more weight than most FTOs & have more than twice the power. I hit much higher speeds on the track, coupled with some fairly aggressive pads, I've gouged out, cracked & fractured the discs pretty badly.

Been on for about 5 years. Yeah they're only 24mm thick.
Ok, so today I'm going to visit wreckers! I'v been speaking to some Mitsi parts gurus this morning.
Apparently the Evo 5 hubs fit into the FTO with no mods... and onto a Evo 5 hub, I can direct bolt on the 4 pot Brembos & 320mm x 32mm rotors that come standard on the Evo 6.
The guys in the pommy colt club have been doing this conversion for years.
Interestingly enough, the Evo 5 lower control arms are also interchangeable with FTO. They're alloy & supposedly stronger & lighter than the steel ones we use. Also have mount points on them for a GPvR style swaybar.
So, i'm off to SSS this arvo with some FTO bits & will do some comparisons. If all of the above is true, then techncially its a 'factory' upgrade!

24mm, really a bit thin for a 330mm rotor, should be minimum 28mm for that diameter, but they did last 5 years, so...

I distinctly remember being pissed for buying a Nissan spacer with a 66mm centre bore, and not being able to fit, resulting with me having to buy another set that suits Mitsu which had a 67mm centre bore... (correction, i think it was 67mm without the .1
