Also the name of the track has changed to Sydney Motorsport Park. Its had a $12 million upgrade.

Former V8 Supercar driver Garth Walden was given the honour of setting a new, unofficial, lap record in a Radical SR3 race car. His lap of 1:52.96 seconds will stand as the practice record until an official time is set during a race.
