Everyone's thoughts :)
Hey guys as of my tax return soon I would like to give my fto a little bit more oomphh!! Lol my budget it roughly 1500.. Was thinking of Dwayne's setup. The haltech platinum , RPW extractors and cold air ( already got that ) is there anything else that could make a diff? I seen this throttle body thing on RPW with the airflow increased by 5mm.. ? I want peoples thoughts as I have much to learn about fto's still haha cheers guys

Save it for another car or an engine swap. Unfortunately 1500 will get you f**k all power out of an na fto, specially since you already have headers n a tune.

Or if I've read that wrong 1500 won't get a tune in, and headers are the only plausible thing to get in if you get a custom y pipe put in.

So it's a no go? Lol I was thinking of doing a 6a13tt swap sometime early next year but 15 odd grand worth of conversion just doesn't cut it for me lol. I think I might just do a datto project car instead haha

Do intake and exhaust first, then go for the ECU. Throttle body is questionable with respect to gains vs Cash.
Aza got 17KW ATW from his haltech install. I got 12KW ATW. Not to mention the improvement in fuel economy. Its not an engine swap, but its reliable. I now have 133KW ATW (stock is 100KW ATW). Thats a 30% gain on naturally aspirated, which isnt bad IMO.Save it for another car or an engine swap. Unfortunately 1500 will get you f**k all power out of an na fto, specially since you already have headers n a tune.

Well I have gotten a air intake so far, just need RPW extractors and exhaust.. Plus the haltech I wonder what difference it does!? Mine already goes pretty good! ( private road ) but I have taken a auto sidi ve sv6 sedan. Not by much but enough for him to not overtake. And a sv6 6sp manual ute neck on neck. Just me wanting to go that little bit moredstocks wrote:Do intake and exhaust first, then go for the ECU. Throttle body is questionable with respect to gains vs Cash.

Re: Everyone's thoughts :)
If you're thinking throttle body, don't get the RPW one, just go to your local wreckers and get one off a Galant V6, $50.
There's a thread on here with all the details
