Post by Supplanter »

Just so us dummies know, how did you guys attach the snorkle to the bumper, and at the other end near the filter?

Not that I installed mine myself, but my mechanic attached the open end of the snorkel to the mesh grille using 3 black rings which seem to pierce the snorkel itself. You can just see those rings from the outside, but it doesn't look bad at all. I haven't had a look at the other end so far 8O

Hey Alex,

Can you just have a look, and see where the other end of the intake pipe comes in, does it come in, into the round hole from the original intake pipe, which is too small I think...

Or does it go round, and into one of the gaps, that the heat shield creates?

Here are the pics as promised.

It was too dark to take a picture of where the snorkel enters the "air-box", but it is threaded through the upper right hand corner, NOT the lower left where the obvious place would be.

Thanks mate.
I looks really good, hopefully this will make more people consider buying the CAI. However i do have some small advice.

Image

Just keep a carefull eye on the friction that the vertical metal battery holder is causing, as it may dig in and make a hole.

In mine I have a towel at first, but then for some foam which seemed better... I have a small place where it actually came 1/2 way to becoming a hole, before I noticed...

Thanks for the advice Boris, I'll keep an eye on it. I did think this was a bit odd, but then reasoned that the rubber is probably tough enough to withstand it. Your experience says otherwise.
