It's an FTO dude, it has hard suspension. Saying that, it probably needs to be replaced anyway, (mine do)

You can have it tested.
Or, you can push down the suspension as much as you can and let it go quickly to see how it reacts on the way up. If it oscillates it is no good. It should go up and steady

Having bad shocks gives a more floaty soft feeling. If you are feeling your car is going to break, I would look more at bushes and sway bar link, tie rod and tie rod end.

My friend drove it for abit, and he thinks because the previous owner lowered it on springs or something, some part of the suspension is fucked up.

Most likely the shocks he thinks o-o

anyone can check it out in sydney, and tell me how i would be able to fix it?

Best off going to a trusted suspension place and have them check over.
I would suggest the likes of pedders, never used them myself, but people give the $15 suspension (or however much it is) check a good wrap.

Stiff suspension + Low profile tyres + bucket seats = Stiff ride, ive gotten used to it personally - just makes me cringe every time i cant avoid a massive pothole and hear the bang!

If the previous owner has cut a loop out of the coils then this will cause an even harsher ride than standard. That's because the number of coils has been shortened, so while it lowers the car it also makes it a lot stiffer.

I can have a look at it for you, PM me your address and I might be able to shoot through on my way home from work. ;)
I'll have an FTO one day... i swear!

until then:
1. 2001 Merc-Benz A160 (porta-loo on wheels)
2. 2007 Peugeot 307 TDi (more fun than you'd expect)
3. 2009 Mitsubishi Triton Di-D (a monster in its own right)
4. 1992 Nissan NX Coupe (club car and project car)
5. 1996 Holden SB Barina - "The Nugget"
6. 1996 Jeep XJ Cherokee Sport - The Budget Build
7. 2010 Toyota Landcruiser 76 Series - V8 Goodness... - Build coming soon.
8. 1990 Audi 90 manual - The delightfully dignified daily driver
