red oil light

Post by iGerman »

hey guys,

for a couple of weeks now the oil light (red light bottom left corner) has come on. It switches on as soon as i start the car and stays on. The only time when it switches off is when i accelerate, but has soon my foot comes off the accelerator the light comes on again. I have been driving with it for 2 weeks now and didnt notice any lack of performance etc. The oil level in the engine is normal as well.

I already searched the forum but couldnt find any possible answers. I hope someone has an idea what it might be. I dont want to send it to a mechanic yet since i am selling the car.

Thanks for your help

BTW i know it is not the windscreen washer fluid in case anyone ask :P

Check the connection on the sender. Its on the oil pump, down in behind the auxiliary belts. Make sure that phillips head screw is tight.
