Car died without warning?

Post by FTO-BOY »

Hi guys! So after work I went to the shops to buy my gf a valentine gift and when I got back in the car my car didn't start... It was running fine. It crank for about a second then just died.. It's not battery nor fuse. I've smacked the starter motor a million times... Yes there's oil. And yes the car was in park and not in gear (auto)

Btw it's a 1994 mivec GPX TIPTRONIC.

Lolz is your gear in Drive mode?? Else lights, radio and all working?? If not then my bet is the alternator. If it working then it might be the starter motor.

Yeah everything is normal just prior to "on" on the ignition switch. All works except for the starter...

Do you get a click(ing) from the starter?

My initial call is sh*tty battery connections or bad earth.

No clicking and I've disconnected and reconnected the terminals as I thought that could also be it. They look clean too. If its bad earth then nothing should work in the car right?

Does your car have an oil leak? One of the common leaks end up dripping on the starter motor and shortening its life.

Make the starter solenoid is getting power first before replacing imo.
