Im all good, i cut the wires right at the old stereo plug and matched everythin up again, just didnt match the remote up as it wasnt on the original fto wiring so i must of overlooked it, simple twist of the wire, its all done, just loading 5000 odd songs onto a usb to live in my glovebox now
Lol nice well I might come get them I got a lot to do on my car at home over the next couple of weeks while on holidays though so I'll let you know when im able to come get it
OK have a slight hiccup here
When the head unit is on i get a slight crackling sound, sort of an interference sound it seems. Very quiet at times (volume of it does vary but not loud or noticeable if it isnt absolute silence) comes from the sub only. If it means anything when i take the remote wire off the amp it stops. Took the head deck out a bit and wriggled all the wires to see if i could find the source, the remote wire is nice and tight everywhere with a solid connection and no exposed wiring etc, same goes for all other wires i can see.
Going to have to rewire the whole car very soon anyway as it is a maze of sh*t, and very very wrong, surprised it works...but anyway just wondering if this is a quick fix and/or a common problem so i can suss it before i rewire the car.
Im going to assume it is a plug exposed or something as it kinda sounds like interference from something almost like the wind is blowing over an exposed wire.
Thats about as in depth and descriptive/helpful i can get over the interwebs so any thoughts/help would be appreciated.
just fixed it
its always the simplest things - onr of the switches on the amp wasnt fully in place kind of a deal, moved it out and then back in and it stopped crackling, turned the sub boost down a little too while i was at it, sounding real crisp, even with sh*tty xplod cardboard speakers in the front (although got a premium kicker sub and rear setup, just got to chuck the mid range pioneers in the front and eventually get around to rewiring the whole car, and get another amp to amp the fronts and replace them with top range kickers - eventually....

Dude, you are the chosen one!
A stoke of luck or a gift from god?
