Need your help with this. My fto is a 94 model GPX with tiptronic. Recently my car has been acting weird. It has been revving weird. When at idle the car seems to be idling at higher revs than normal.
Furthermore when the car is downshifting from 4th gear to 3rd gear when the revs drop to abt 1000 rpm the car seems to rev back up to 1500rpm and down again and back up again as if it is bunny hopping. I drive the car normally and do not thrash it about or anything except use it to get to uni and back home. This sorta thing has occured before when i first got the car back last yr but it went away. Can anyone give me any suggestions as to what it could be and any potential soultions as i cant really afford to take it to a mechanic cus i think they will charge me through the nose
im gettn the oil changed today and all that but i doubt it could be that? i spoke to a mate and he said it could be a vacuum leak somewher. One of the pipe leading into the inlet manifold could be leaking causing the fuel/ratio to be out of whack causing the car to idle roughly and act erractically?
does anyone think this too or does it jus need a service?
ok. well today jus changed the oil with mobil one oil and changed the oil filter.
The problem still persists... Basically the weird behaviour only appears when the engine is warm or after approx 30-40minutes of driving. also i have noticed a petrol smell as well. anyone have any ideas what it could be? before i take it to the mechanics
also does anyone here know of any good FTO mechanics in the sydney area that is reasonable in price or cheap??
Its your fuel pump i think.... Happen to my mates skyline. Have u ever driven a car thats nearly out of petrol and it starts to bunny hop and lose power ?!!?
Basically the fuel isnt getting into the car properly and its causing it to bunny hop and act wierd.
had a similiar problem with my au falcon
transmission keeps jumping up and down gears?
got transmission serviced (oil change) and it went away.
Service was not due for 30000k but fixed it.
Worth a try.
