Post by FTO-BOY »

Hi I need a new tax agent as my old one moved and I have no contact. He was good too always got me maximum refund plus a little bit more ;-) .. Any way I need a new guy who's not dodgy(to an extent) but also knows what they're doing and can give me a good refund and maybe a little bit more hehe

Speaking from experience, they dont ring you, they wait 6-8 months then send you a tax assessment saying things dont line up... if you do nothing you agree to fix the problem... then 4-6 months they send you another tax assessment saying because they had to fix your tax you must have lied and therefore you owe them a fee... in my case $1400

( i had laundry allowance that i put in the wrong category)

It cost me $140 to get my tax done through H and R block. Doing it yourself looks complicated :? Almost all accountant are a bit scetchy. They dont mess around when it comes to money.

no no, i didnt realise my laundry allowance had to go in a separate part of my tax and i just grouped it all into 'taxable income', it was about $400, the $1000 came from 'investigational costs'
