need help with third gear

hey need help and advice. i have looked at other threads with simular problemsand i have changed the fluids and filter this afternoon. but i'm still have the same problem with third gear. whats happening is first and second gear changes are really smooth but third gear revs out alil before engauging and then after alil while the N lights up and then starts flashing and the car will not change up or down gears just gets stuck in third. what could be causing this and is it something i can fix my self???

Find out what the error code is. The flashes tell you the code (and thus what is wrong). Do a search on error codes and you should find the thread with the list of codes in it. Once you know the code, we can tell you what needs to be done to fix.

it just flashs all the time until u turn the car off but then when start it back up u get to drive about 500 meters and then it goes back t the same thing until u turn the car off again

Do a search for "error codes" & you'll find how to read the codes stored on the ecu. Then we can start to diagnose it.

well today i had the help from matt (silvergpx ) and we changed all the sensors and we still hve the same problem. matt seems to think it could be the torque convertor or gearbox. could this be my problem???

just to put the error code theroy to rest i did try it and nothing happened

If its torque converter, you are possibly better off sourcing another gearbox as it might be cheaper. If you get desperate, ive got a couple of spares, but im not real close.

okay well after running evoscan i couldn't get a reading on the A/T ecu so i took note of wha the N light was doing and its flashing every second. and when u look at the diagnostic code errors it says

Input speed sensor
Output speed sensor
Solenoid valve
Out of phase at shift points
A/T control relay system

is it gonna be easier taking the car to a speciallist???
