And the DE 3A is ?
I'm a little confused where does the DE3A fit in the general scheme of the FTO hirachy, is it a performance model, upmarket ftom the GPX or-- ?

Re: And the DE 3A is ?
DE3A and DE2A are chassis codes that identify the FTO from other rolling shells, like the Lancer CT9A, RVR N23W and so on.
the rest of the numbers there-after identify your FTO from any other FTO.

DE2A is the GS. An FTO with a 4 cyllinder. Never really got many over here. I know of 2. DE3A is everything else (GR,GPX,GPvR)

Re: And the DE 3A is ? and the GPvR is ?
Thanks for that .
I'm now in the process of buying a GPvR and have been given to understand that the GPvR is the equivalent, comparitively, to the difference between say a Honda Civic R to other Honda Civics that are not an 'R'
What is the difference actualy ?
In other words I haven't got a clue what I'm buying and probably should be shot
Or, a my mother used to say "A fool and his money are soon parted"

Re: And the DE 3A is ?
Do the DE2As (GXs) have the engine mounting points in different locations? Would it be easier to mount an EVO engine in a GX? Any other differences between the 2 chassis?
LED ALL the things.

na identical to a gr chassis and mount are the same on either vehicle. A GS however would be far easier to turbo its current 4 pot motor than any of the 6's

Re: And the DE 3A is ?
the DE2A is the GS not the GX (GX is a newer version of the GR(non mivec v6))
it is the standard Lancer 1800 motor, and came in a turbo form (lancer GSR), it would be easier to slot in a new motor into the GS for the sheer reason that its easier to take out than a 6A12 v6.
an evo engine of the era (96-00) should easily fit on the same GS mounting points
