Woow. As usual you leave me wishing I knew half the sh*t you know about cars.

The damaged teeth on the secondary shaft, looks a bit nasty though. Hope you're right and that they don't shatter anyway.

What about the bearing to housing fit?
If that bearing has spun won't the housing be buggered?
going fast doesn't kill you, it's the sudden stop that does.

You'd think so hey, but it wasn't too bad. Couple of scores I just linished up. Leads me to think the retainer plate they've used when they built this box came from my old box (which was destroyed cause the tards that put it in neglected to put any oil in before dynoing the car.) I'll check out the housing on the old box tomorrow if I get a chance. To try & stop it happening again, I threw a 5 thou shim under the bearing so it's clamped pretty hard against this new plate.

Something tells me this will happen again thou, putting 250kws into a box designed to take 150 is always gonna be trouble. Got an engineer mate who's gonna duplicate the retainer plate in K245 tool steel for next time.

Yeah thats the whole point of smoothing off the rough edges, to 'destress' the faces. They should be ok for a while anyway. As mentioned above with the power thats going through this box, Im giving it a 12-24 month lifespan lol. Don't reckon she'll go much more than that, its just one of those things with modified cars! I really should get hold of a Legnum box..

I'll certainly take it if you're binning it.

Box is back together, all shimmed & torqued up :)

Will try wack her in tomorrow & be done with it! Just gotta pickup the intake pipe (with new bov outlet welded on) and when the box goes back in, Im gonna chuck another starter motor in from my spares. One that was in it was starting to get a little weak. Not surprisingly.

Then thats it!! No more work required in the short term

Oh, apart from the seat rails

Then Im going out to the Creek to see what she'll do down the quarter, then back to Wakfield :)
