delimit max speed by clipping a wire?

just looking for a way to delimit the 180kph limit, i know that in theory i should be the one telling you guys how to do it (being an auto electrician and all), but im guna have a crack at it, before i do i just want to see if anyone has any info whatso ever? i want to avoid those ebay delimiters as i asked the seller if there is a way to just delimit without turning the car to mph, and they said probably not, but they dont know much about the product.

on other cars people say to unplug the 4th n 5th gear sensors, but that makes you have no kph signal at all in those gears, i want to avoid that (even though you can hook that up to a switch). and i have seen some people cut a wire at the ecu, which makes sense, it would be the signal from the speedo, but the speedo gets its signal straight from the tranny and engine, so it doesnt need to be hooked up to the ecu IN THEORY, thats why im asking if anyone has any further info, either way i will try it and chuck a diy up for y'all, and anyone know what page of what pdf book has the ecu diagram? had a decent flick through them all and nothing simple imediatly jumped at me. thanks

yes you can cant remeber where i found the the info but can be done. try googling it pretty sure it was on a uk site

Beautiful, exactly what i need. If its so easy and simple why havent i herd anyone do it before? Why doesnt everyone do it? And has it got any "side effects"? Like speedo doesnt work? Warning light goes on all the time
Or over 180ks? Nothing else relies on that wire? Just puzzles me why everyone doesnt do this 2second mod :s

and me its a yellow wire with red dashes on it. on the ecu its on the side closest to the engine bay i believe.

mine is connected to my eManage Ultimate which graphs speed and other useful stuff

but yeah very easy to do

Because it has very little benefit to anyone unless they are looking to take their FTO to either the track or the drag strip on a regular basis.

I've taken my car up to those speeds a total of two times and have no desire to do it again. People find acceleration a much more rewarding thing rather than a high top speed.

Yeah suppose so, i live at the end of an 8km tarmac dead end road with an "end 100" sign, so i can hit 200 daily, but i dont sh*t where i eat, unless there is a new mod and late at night so u can understand why im over the moon with this mod
