IDLE STEPPER MOTOR (FTO)

Post by JSP-INC »

Hey guys i have had heaps of problems with the FTO lately.. and one was when i started it every morning (cold start) it would just stall on me!! so i had to give it some kick with the throttle holding it at revs for a while till it warmed up... had fluctuating revs at idle and it was all over the place..
basically the idle speed control motor was dead which was replaced with a new one and now it's running fine, so if anyone else has the above symptons ever in their FTO, it might be that....
thought this info. might help for future reference.. not sure if its in the wrong section or not....

Guys.....have had same problem since auto-elec changed my indicator switch, i assume he slowed down idle, as it used rev above 1000.

RT, would appreciate info. if you score the part needed, & who you get to do the job. Also if you could advise of good mechanic in area as we are in same region and i'm finding it hard to find anyone local who knows what an FTO is, let alone if they have worked on one.

thanx.
