I think he is talking about the lastest shape one with 2zz 1.8 vvti.Ugly looking car imo,the gt4 is a better car and cheaper to buy but pretty much all of them are thrashed now.

Yeah its the 2ZZ one. Well I have own the FTO for 3 years already. And spent almost 6-7g fixing stuff that break down due to wear and tear. Don't get me wrong, she loves the FTO but I think its also eating up my pay because every couple of months something happen. So yeah...I have to save up for a house now so getting an FTO as my next car would have to be sacrificed. I've driven a 95 Celica before and it has the reliability and well to a certain extent a sports car look. I might get a cheaper FTO than a Celica or maybe a Yaris but I'm just afraid that the cost that comes up later might get me broke if you get what i mean. Prob next time down the road I will turn back on the FTO once I had enough of the other cars but now its not really an option much as I would like to have it.

I've looked the the GT-4 already but yea...most of them has been thrashed some point or another. Most of the cars are almost 20 years or so old already. Cant really afford the maintenance of turbo cars. Lolz. Anyway Im gonna try out a Celica tomorz and lets see how bad its handling is :)

I used to have a 99 SXR celica they are quite a nice celica. 2.2l 4cyl good handling not as powerful as the wonderful FTO but still alright, got me from A-B and it looked good... i was going to keep it but the engine blew... thast why i got a FTO lol... which in hind sight as much as i love my FTO i shoulda just got a new engine... would have saved about 11-12k... >_> lol.

But as i said SXR celicas are good

As promised, here are the pictures taken from the car yard. Its a total write off and assessor told me that prob would cost 6-7k to get it repaired :( And I could not take my GAB strut bar out because I didnt have any power tools and using my wrechet was totally impossible so I had to leave it behind damn...as u can see the car is still in an effing good nick. Sigh...i sweared a tear came down my eye as I was pulling away from the car yard. My insurance is still a rating 1 but i've now gotta pay 900 bucks excess and 1.4k premium.....I swear to you some drivers from certain countries are really f***ed up drivers. Not to be racist or what but if you know what I'm talkin abt you get my drift

I'm not so sure whether to get another one because the feeling is not the same and owning and FTO is pretty ex man. Spent almost 5g's to bring it to where it is now. Probably looking at a 2000 Celica ZR if I can find a white one with low kms. But if it doesnt give me the adreneline rush and satisfaction as an FTO...chances will be I might be turning back to the FTO again. Lolz so for the time being Vic has one FTO short...
Seriously,i know its hard that you lost your car and i feel sorry for you ,but for the love of god DO NOT even consider buying that model of celica,i have never seen any dude drive that car before, its chicks car man!! But thats just my oppinion if you want one than go for it,but i can tell you ,it wont be as good as an fto atleast in terms of power and handling.
not being rude or anything~ but theres no need to say celicas are a girls car, i've seen heaps of guys with celicas ect. Just like others sayin that fto's are for girls & get a real men car like a supra or something  we dont care if its for girls or guys, its just personal choice, he could get a supra and said that the ftos are slower.
but yeah... sorry i just had seen enough peopls bragging about these kinda stuff :D

A celica is more like a poor mans sports car, much like a pajero is a poor mans 4wd.

on another note, were your rims 17's cos there the same as mine. any way there would be an auction up for them as mine are badly gutter rashed lol

Well i suppose your right, but i just hate those 99-05 celicas and mr2 spyders. To be fair ive seen probably a few dudes drive these sort of cars and i really didnt mean to offend anyone in my comment,if thats what you like then go for it, and the fto is more of a unisex car like a commodore, falcon etc  (i bought mine off some chick) but yeah you should of seen my previous car :supergay: i still get abused for having that thing
