Where to find the wire for the door
Hey guys, as u most know i have made the custom light up door sill, but recently an auto elec took my alarm out an disconnect the wire for it to light up, now im asking, wheres another wire i can hook up to so when i open the door it lights up?

hook to the lights in the rear vision mirrors. Youll need to remove the pillar cover from the drivers side. Underneath, youll find a loom. I think it was a green wire with a stripe from memory.

the pillar cover from driver side as in the bottom under the steering wheel, or the whole dash thing? sorry for being noob

never mind, i googled pillar cover lol, its the side where people normally put their boost gauge right? ^^

ok i just checked under the pillar, theres 4 wires, black, red black, green, orange green. which one do i connect it to?

From memory the green. Do you have a multimeter. You should get power with the door open and no power with it closed.

ok i shall check it when i go to my friends house, and can i use the one (located at the edge of the door, black rubber thing, behind it would there b wires?)

There is a single wire and its an earth, so no you cant - no power in it. Thats why you have to go for the one in the pillar - because its a power wire instead of a ground wire

ooo, kk ^^, thanks a lot, i shall find it where it leads to under the dash, cause its abit hard to hide the wire from the pillar

Thats where ive attached mine into. You should be able to run the wire under the cover into the dash area and then under the footwell cover.

ok, since i was there, i might as well use the power wire from there too, the redblack one is power and greenorange is the ground, i split the wires and connect it, works fine, as i was about to electric tape the wires back, it suddenly turned off an didnt work now, but rear view mirror light still works, any idea?
