Shadow chrome rims
Hey there... I'm looking at getting some new rims for my baby now...
I'm, just getting so annoyed at the look of the stockies.... anyways, i'm in love with the spider design rims from tempe tyres, and i'm a big fan of shadow chrome, but i'm not sure, what it'll look like on a dark coloured car? My baby is black, and i think it may be a little to plain...
What would really be sweet, is if, anyone had any pics of a black car with shadow chrome rims on them... but i've did a search, to very little...
I could also go with the plain ol` fashioned chromies, because they will stand out more.. but i'm not sure, really... anyone have some sort of pics?
Also, with 17" in mind, i'm thinking low-profile tyres... The car is really my everyday car, and I want some tyres that will last a bit, but also provide some handling... i'm not too concerned about sound or harshness (so long as it's not ridiclous)... but I do want some nice handling, but still keep the tyres wide and low profile for looks?
idea's?
Thanks for any help...

Alex (rxboy) has shadow chrome ROH wheels on and his car is black, i think they look pretty sweet
It depends on what u want, normal chrome wheels will stand out more as they r shiny, shadow chrome will blend in with your paintwork a little better rather than stand out
As for your tyres, is your car lowered or r u planning to lower it? If so then your probably better goin like a 35 profile as it should prevent your tyres rubbing the inner guard, something like a 215/35 tyre would look nice, again the wider the tyre the more likely its goin to rub the inner guard, u could also go like a 215/35 on the front and a 235/35 on the rear for looks if u wanted

Thanks guys...
Big help.. but I just realised, choosing rims, is going to be a lot harder then I once thought.. lol
I'm so torn.. I want, Shadow chrome, then I want Hyper silver, then Gold, and sometimes Chrome!!!
Lol, RXboy's car does look very sweet imo.. Lol.. so torn :p
The thing is, my car is semi rice already, with chrome silver wipers, and chrome/purple led washers, with soon purple headlights and stuff... lol, so that part of me thinks, chromies will be good...
So lost... oh so lost :p
I think i'm just going to look at a lot of black fto pictures, see what rims they got on... and try and make up my mind :p
Thanks again.

. I bought shadow-chrome only because it looks a little different and sort of blends with the black colour of the car. The only disadvantage is that I'm now finding that the shadow aspect is slowly fading
Here are some pics of my wheels from the Mallacoota trip:

The most important thing Guni_GuGu is that you take your time choosing the wheels that you like the most. If you're gonna fork over so much cash, u might as well get the ones u absolutely love. Look through all the galleries on this site and maybe have a look at some photo albums in wheel shops. There were some FTOs in a photo album at Donellans Oakleigh, so others might have them as well.

Guni gugi (if i remember correctly)
I went to Tempe and decide between the Shadow Chrome and Hyper Silver on my wheels (foto's downstairs)
I decided on the HyperSilver, before even knowing the price difference between the two. The Shadow Chrome were 400 more.
I am so F*cking happy with my decision. I absolutely LOVE the colour and the rims, and it is on my black car.

But again, the shadow chrome was nice too... I just like the hypersilver, i thought it looked more classy.
Good luck with your choice! i know it is hard

Firstly, I'd like to say, what stands out the most on that webpage...Cohn wrote:Don't touch Chrome, or Gold.
I think they are really unclassy and flashy in a cheap way...
Way up who you bought your car for, and who and what type of girl you wanna get into bed with.
Good luck

Those DIALS!!! OMG!!!!! They are just fricken indcirdable!!!! How are you getting them? Because, I'm not sure, how I can even go about getting different dials for my oil temp and vac gauges, which are appart of the center console...
Next, those rims look damn DAMN good... Also, your car, must have the best black paint ever, looks like showroom!!!
I'm soo torn... i thought, I had an idea, of what i wanted.. but i am really like a lost puppy out there!!!!

I saw them from a Japanese website before, I look for it & then post it.
These are very popular with the Honda's & quite cheap too (if you have a honda) & they look much better in real life then photo.

Can I ask how much you paid for your rims? Because they are very very nice... and I can't see a price for them anywhere....Cohn wrote:Guni gugi (if i remember correctly)

The shadow chrome ones, of your rims, I think are $1.8 with rubber....
What type of tyres did you get? Any rubbing on the guards or anything?

If I'm not mistaken that dial kit is actually made up of four different parts, three of which we already have access too:
1) The dials
2) Aluminium dial cups
3) Aluminium dial rings
4) Aluminium dial surround
2, 3 & 4 we can buy through the FTO shop, so it's just the dials themselves we need to find a supplier and price for.

Hmm, yea that site is correct.
That homepage is fairly old, (a year ago), so it was at a time that i was searching like mad for dials.
The only problem with these dials is the $$$.
It consists of 4 parts as Ruchi said.
The only thing you would need to buy are the actualy dial template. Price for them was $180 in japan (i.e no shipping).
A little overpriced in my opinion, and better to get indiglo.
The rims: paid $1600 for 18x7.5 tyres are Falken 235/40. DANGER!!!! GET 225!
I do get TINY rubbing at full lock, with 225 there would be none.
The shadow chrome in 18x7.5 i could have got for $1800.
Enjoy the pain of having to choose rims
