Spoiler holes

Post by mosti »

Okay so i purchased a VR spoiler.
Had a quick look at it and it looks as though only two of the bolts will fit in the pre exisiting holes of the stock spoiler. If this is the case, what's the best way to go about drilling 2 new holes? Just get my drill, use an appropriate diameter drill bit and drill away? Fit the bolts in the holes and then tighten with washer and nut?

Also, to fill the old holes, does this need to be done? Only thing i dont want happening is water getting down those old holes? (which might not happen as the Base of the VR covers them).

Probs not making sense as im typing on my iphone in a bouncy car whilst having a convo with someone haha.

    Ah yeah ofcourse woops

Well looks like my heat gun will come in handy with heating up the old sikaflex and getting it to come free :)

Okay only thing I'm worried about now is tightening the spoiler too hard and creating dents in the bonnet bahaha. That probably can't even occur

I was going to post up last night about the bonnet

    Okay,
So the spolier is now on ;)
Instead of drilling holes, i Just cut the 2 extra bolts off the spoiler ;)

As for fitment...well it isn't the best...quite disappointed to be honest but ah well she'll do!

I'm quite sure 3 bolts and sikaflex is more then enough to hold it in place.
There was no need for 5 bolts.
Only way I can see it coming off is if I reach speeds of 400km/h

    It will be fine :D
My wing is stuck on with three x inch bits of bubble sided 3M tape on each side and two self tapping screws each side
And after three track days it's still on there

I have a GP VR FTO but I have changed the VR wing with an adjustable wing.
It fits ok, I could make it fit better if I put the time into it :?
