FTO too high!!!, F=13, R=18(cms), lowering on budget???

Post by brent88 »

Hey my FTO sits too high!!! want the front to sit about 10-11cms high(lowest part is the side of the veilside front bar) and want the rear to sit about 13 cms high. currently front is 13cms at lowest point and rear is 18cms at lowest point(rounded)

not buying new coilovers for 1k+
$650 cheapest quote for getting lowered decent ampount using springs
$300-$350 springs off ebay etc and maybe do myself(spring clamp 50 bux or so????)
2nd hand coilovers?? $600???? havnt seen any 4 sale

i know putting springs on original shocks can be bad and wear out your dampers but if im lowering it to the heights i want will it be ok?

links and being pointed in the right direction will be appreciated, thanx.

Lowering springs. Do it yourself. A little bit time consuming, but not that hard:

really good post bennoz, really wouldent wanna replace everything coz if i was going to do that id just buy second hand coilovers. maybe if i replace the springs only but only drop 2-3cms at back and maybe 1.5 at front?
