air con

Post by timmyk »

just took the car into get the aircon serviced cos it hasnt been working and thought it might have been just an easy retro fitting but according to the electricians that wasnt the case. maybe a fuse or somethin. if anyone has any details on where i can find diagrams for the aircon unit in fto's would be of great help. and if u have had the same problem or any problems with your aircon would like to hear so i would be able to get an idea of where to start fixing it cos they were not able to do it and just told me to do some searches on the web and find some diagrams that could help them sort it out.

thanks

First point of advice, go to another sparky.

Usual cause of it not turning on is because the gas level has dropped too low for the compressor to engage.

I've probably said this in about 100 threads but you never know the issue so I'll say what was wrong with mine.

The issue was an electrical wire not working from the aircon unit to the compressor so every time the cold air wanted to be activated the wire wasn't turning the compressor on. An auto-electrician should be able to find the issue quite easily by just following the wires
