Central Locking Remote

Post by Charmander »

My remote has died, managed to fix it once by cleaning the contacts (they were 'gunked up' as my dad put it) but that method doesn't work anymore. We've replaced the battery in it, so it's not that either. Also assuming that it's nothing else in the system as the light on the remote no longer turns on when the buttons are pressed. I was just wondering if anyone knew of where to get new remotes for the factory central locking system.

Worst comes to worst I'm fine continuing to lock it with the key :P

Not sure what the factory FOB is like but i would suggest taking it into Jaycar first, if they cant help you out try a locksmith but i imagine they are likely to make you pay with a kidney.

Put in aftermarket alarm with central locking and use that as new fob

Yeah that's the plan now. Was hoping for something in the meantime but seems like a hopeless case :P
